Product Description
Transparent Gauge Glass
Established in the year 1976, we are a well known manufacturer, exporter, trader and supplier of Transparent Gauge Glass, which is widely used for testing purposes in various chemical industries. Owing to its special attributes like fine finish, dimensional accuracy, high quality and durability, it is fabricated using best quality raw materials which are procured from our reliable vendors of the market. In order to ensure its quality this Transparent Gauge Glass is tested on the different parameters by our quality analyst to bring best result at users end.
Operating Principle :
The Transparent Gauge Glass Principle is based on the difference in the refractive index of liquid, gas, steam and water. It has grooves with prismatic right angled on the side facing media. If a light ray encounters surface of one of the 450C slanted grooves in steam / gas space, it is so reflected to the opposite groove surface, and fully reflected back into the observation direction. The steam / gas space thus appears as white-silver.
The ray of light, which encounters the groove surface in the liquid space is absorbed totally, and liquid behind the reflex glass thus appears black. The rays of light entering from outside gauge are either reflected or absorbed, depending whether they enter the steam space or water space.
Various sizes are available in both Transparent Gauge Glass and Reflex Gauge Glass.
High-Performance Industrial Liquid Level MonitoringThis gauge glass is built with top-tier borosilicate glass, designed to handle aggressive chemicals and extreme temperatures. Its highly visible flat window ensures precise liquid level readings, essential in critical process industries. The rugged steel or stainless-steel frame enhances durability, while the customizable design fits any installation or measurement requirement.
Flexible Application and Easy MaintenanceThanks to its versatile mounting (vertical or horizontal), range of end connections, and easily replaceable glass section, this gauge glass suits varied industrial needs. Cleaning and servicing are straightforward, reducing downtime in demanding environments.
Robust Standards and Safety FeaturesManufactured in compliance with IS, ASTM, and DIN standards, each unit undergoes stringent hydrostatic leakage testing before dispatch. The bolted guard or frame protects the glass from accidental impacts, ensuring reliable, safe operation even at high pressures and temperatures.
FAQs of Transparent Gauge Glass:
Q: How is the transparent gauge glass installed in industrial systems?
A: The gauge glass can be installed using flanged, threaded, or welded end connections, in either a vertical or horizontal position, depending on the application requirements. Customizable threads (BSP/NPT) and mounting ensure compatibility with existing systems.
Q: What materials are used for the gauge glass and its housing?
A: The viewing window is made from high-quality transparent borosilicate glass, known for its chemical and thermal resistance. The housing and end fittings can be manufactured from stainless steel, mild steel, or brass, with additional corrosion protection finishes such as powder coating or painting as specified.
Q: When should the gauge glass be cleaned or replaced?
A: Regular inspection is recommended based on operating conditions. The design allows for easy cleaning and quick replacement of the glass section as part of routine maintenance, helping to maintain clear visibility and accurate fluid level readings.
Q: Where can this type of gauge glass be used?
A: This product is widely utilized in petrochemical plants, refineries, chemical processing units, boilers, and storage tanksanywhere direct, accurate visual liquid level observation is essential for safety and process control.
Q: What benefits does using a transparent gauge glass provide over other types?
A: It offers high visual accuracy with a direct view of the liquid level, robust resistance to chemicals and thermal shock, and a protected design against physical damage. Compliance with international standards ensures consistent reliability and safety.
Q: How is the gauge glass tested prior to dispatch?
A: Each unit undergoes thorough hydrostatic leakage testing to ensure it can withstand specified operating pressures and prevent leakage, guaranteeing safety and performance in demanding settings.
