Product Description

Reflex Gauge Glass

Being an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, we are engaged in offering a best quality range of Reflex Gauge Glass that is used in various industries. This helps to check presence of gas with the liquid, its unique features makes it highly demanded in the market. Known for high quality, compact design, easy usage and longer life, it is fabricated using high grade metals and other materials in line with the international quality standards. Clients can avail this Reflex Gauge Glass from us at market leading prices.

Operating Principle :

The Reflex Gauge Glass Principle is based on the difference in refractive indices of gas, liquid or in particular of steam / water. On the side facing media, it has grooves with prismatic right angled. If a light ray encounters surface of one of the 450C slanted grooves in steam or gas space, it is then reflected to opposite surface of the grooves, and completely reflected back into the observation direction. The gas or steam space thus appears as silver-white.

The light ray, which encounters the groove surface in the liquid space is absorbed completely. Therefore, the liquid behind the reflex glass appears black. Rays of Light coming from outside of the gauge, are either reflected or absorbed, depending upon whether they enter steam or water space.

Various sizes are available in both Reflex Gauge Glass and Transparent Gauge Glass.

Superior Clarity for Level Detection

The prismatic grooves etched on the reflex glass provide excellent contrast between liquid and vapor, ensuring a distinct demarcation for direct visual monitoring. This design enables operators to ascertain fluid levels accurately and efficiently in real time, minimizing the chances of misinterpretation.

Versatile Installation and Customization

Reflex Gauge Glasses are adaptable to your requirements, available in customisable lengths ranging from 6 to 36 inches and up to 30 mm outer diameter. With options for flanged, screwed, and socket weld end connections, it easily integrates with diverse tank and piping systems. BSP and NPT threading further enhance compatibility.

Rugged and Low-Maintenance Construction

Manufactured using high-quality borosilicate glass and robust steel or stainless steel housing, this gauge withstands harsh industrial environments, withstanding pressures up to 35 bar and temperatures up to 400C. Easy-access points allow for swift replacement of gaskets and glass, reducing downtime and maintenance effort.

FAQs of Reflex Gauge Glass:

Q: How does the reflex gauge glass indicate the level of liquid in a tank or boiler?

A: The reflex gauge glass features prismatic grooves that use the difference in light refraction between liquid and vapor phases. Liquid appears dark, while vapor is light, providing a clear, direct visual indication of the fluid level without ambiguity.

Q: What options are available for mounting and end connections?

A: Depending on your installation needs, reflex gauge glasses are available with flanged, screwed, or socket weld end connections. BSP or NPT threading can be selected to suit your system requirements.

Q: When is it necessary to replace the gauge glass or gaskets, and how easy is this process?

A: Replacement is recommended during routine maintenance or upon signs of wear or damage. The design allows for easy removal and installation of new glass and gaskets, minimizing operational downtime.

Q: Where are reflex gauge glasses commonly used?

A: These indicators are widely used in industrial settings across India for monitoring liquid levels in tanks, drums, and boilers, particularly where high accuracy and direct visual assessment are required.

Q: What is the measuring range and can it be customized?

A: Standard measuring lengths range from 6 to 36 inches, with custom sizes available to fit specific applications. Outer diameters from 10 mm to 30 mm further support application flexibility.

Q: How does using this gauge benefit industrial operations?

A: The high-clarity, robust construction, and easy maintenance reduce operational risks, enhance safety, and provide reliable performance in demanding industrial processes.
